According to a rumor originally posted over on CVG, there’s a very good chance Nintendo wants to avoid confusion happening with the Wii U like it did with the NDS/3DS launch. I’d say they’ve got a good reason too, cause everything shown at E3 during their press conference made people think that the Wii U controller was either a stand alone console, or upgrade to the core Wii. Not at all what Nintendo wanted people to see, as there’s still, ya know, a console behind all of that witchcraft.
Is it too late to dig “Project Revolution” out of the closet? Knowing Nintendo, this thing will probably be named Nintendo Horizon, with the controller being called “Viewfinder”. Let’s be honest though, if it’s got a version of Super Smash Bros on it, we’re all going to buy the damn thing anyway, regardless of how bad the name might be.
