Sony halting PSP Go production?

PSP_Go_rendering

With the announcement of the NGP and general lack of support for the console it was inevitable that the handheld would die off but it was generally reserved for a future date, namely when the NGP was finally released. It seems that the process has been hurried along according to a translated post on Andriasang which claims that the production of the handheld has ceased.

When questioned about the post, Sony issued a half-denial. Sony plans to “continue to make shipments of the PSPgo” but stayed mum when pressed on whether these shipments would include new products or just the stock they already had lying around. On top of that it was confirmed that shipments to the UK would be ceased for the units as well.

Goodbye PSPgo, you had a lot of promise.
